BUSINESS OPERATIONS

SNAI welcomes Alaskan Tour Guides to our hospitality family.

Alaskan Tour Guides uses over 40 years of resident Alaskan experience toward making your touring of Alaska a favorite lifetime memory. As your trusted Alaska tour company, we give special attention to details so each traveler has the opportunity to fully enjoy and appreciate the adventure, the spectacular views, the rich culture and loads of fun. Benefits of small group travel along with out company’s extensive  knowledge and understanding of travel in Alaska is the key to our ability of making the most of your Alaska tour experience.

Small group travel provides greater flexibility in allowing us to accommodate individual interests within the tour schedule. The smaller buses allow our groups to stop more easily, where most large coaches cannot. Wildlife viewing is made possible at every opportunity. It also allows us to access some special destinations and activities away from those larger group tours.

Our guides are year-round residents who use their experience to educate and entertain throughout your travels. They have interesting stories to share and growing up or living in Alaska. Many of our reviews highly regard our guides’ knowledge and hospitality.

SNAI owns 167,000+ acres of land on both side of the Cook Inlet. A large portion of the Corporation’s land is located adjacent to the Community of Seldovia and along the shoreline and uplands adjacent to Kachemak Bay. All of SNAI’s lands are private lands and access is allowed by permit only. The Corporation offers several different types of permits for various uses of the land. The types of permits are: Seasonal Non-Commercial Recreation Permit (hiking, biking) and Hunting Permit (for black bears – Jakolof Bay to Boundary Creek, and brown bears on the west side of the Cook Inlet). There is also a Homesite Land Lease Program available. The SNAI Land Lease Program is for non-commercial recreational cabin or home site purposes only. The available lease term is for twenty-five (25) years. Lease payments are based on the Kenai Peninsula Borough and SNAI’s appraisal value.  These permits can be found on SNAI’s website under “Resources.”

The Corporation also owns a large commercial property on the waterfront in the City of Seldovia. The property once a grocery store operation housed with an eight-room hotel suite above the store. The store and hotel operations were discontinued in 2009. The company is assessing future uses for the property which has a commanding view of the picturesque Seldovia Bay.

The Seldovia Native Association owned and operated Dimond Center Hotel proudly boasts in a 109-room, upper mid-scale service hotel located in the heart of the booming south side of Anchorage. This profitable venture sits adjacent to the ever expanding and upgrading Dimond Center Mall (having recently added Chili’s, Olive Garden, H & M and Dave & Busters), providing easy access for our valued customers for a myriad of shopping experiences.

The Dimond Center Hotel recently opened on site the Old Cannery Bar which features a varied menu selection of fresh dishes to satisfy any palette and a full range of Alaskan beers and exotic and mixed drinks.

In an ever-competitive environment with several new hotels coming online annually, DCH has set all-time net profit records while recording larger than our fair share occupancy indexes within these competitive and volatile environments. These results were only achieved by working with a decisive Board of Directors who listened to hotel management and empowered them to make changes and adding new facets such as the bar to keep DCH fresh and competitive.

The hotel management team is proud to be a part of the winning culture of Seldovia Native Association and the distinction of representing and operating profitably the Dimond Center Hotel to provide Shareholder value and annual dividends.
