SNA Will Instructions

The simple Will form is used by Seldovia Native Association, Inc. (SNA) and refers only to SNA Stock. The form is taken from AS 13.16.705(b). To file a valid Will in the state, you must be 18 years of age and the Will must have 3 witnesses sign. The latest dated Will on file is the valid will.

Your Will could be "Self Proving" in our State by having a Notary Public witness all three signatures on the Will, that of the testator (person writing it), and the two (2) witnesses. The advantage of this is that if your Will is ever called to court, the judge never again has to look up the witnesses, thus saving time.

To file your Will:
1- On the first line, enter the state in which you live
2- Under State, enter the Judicial District, county or borough. If not known, your Notary Public should know.
3- Your name will appear three (3) times on the Will.
a. At the beginning- (Please Print)
b. On the Stockholder's Signature Line (Signature Only)
c. And, at the end following the words: the above-named person...
The rest of the Will form is self explanatory.

When naming the person(s) to whom you wish to give your shares:
1. Print clearly
2. Enter each persons name: First, middle (or initial) and last name.
3. If a relative, write the relationship to you.
4. Enter their last known address and state. (This helps Locate them)
5. Enter the amount of shares you wish to Will to each person.
6. Total of all shares entered on Will MUST equal the total amount of shares you own, if unknown, call SNA office.
